Learning Lens Privacy Policy
Learning Lens is a privacy-first educational observation tool for educators. It does not diagnose learning disabilities, infer emotion, or replace professional judgment.
What we collect
The validated MVP keeps the core experience on-device. In the default local mode, Learning Lens records only session interaction data such as pattern choices, correctness, response timing, and error recovery for the current activity session.
Learning Lens does not create a child account and does not collect:
- child names, emails, phone numbers, or birth dates
- school identifiers
- precise location
- photos, video, audio, face geometry, or biometric templates
Where data stays
Pattern activity data remains in app memory for the current session. Leaving or restarting the activity clears the session record in the MVP.
Optional educator summary
If an educator later enables an optional remote summary, the service may receive an anonymous session identifier plus enumerated aggregate observations only. Child identifiers, free-form notes, and media are not sent. The OpenAI provider remains disabled by default; a deterministic local summary is always available.
Camera
Camera sensing is outside the validated MVP, disabled by default, and is not included in the current TestFlight binary.
